Crue slows trends and makes extravagant clothes attainable through a digitally-aided rental service; it aims to make a dent in the ever-popular culture of hyper-consumption. Its sustainable goals reflect in the Crue tote bag used to ship orders to customers and back. Crue's Identity employs the commonly bold colours found in streetwear fashion, and reduces their intensity to enable the primary imagery to excel in visual hierarchy over the pastels and considered typography. Editorial Design, Supervised by Ned Culic &amp; Dan Milne This annual report design is a fictional interpretation based upon the largest eyewear corporation originating in Italy. The editorial identity borrows the core blue colour and expands the palette, demonstrated in the illustrations, which are carefully arranged throughout the publication. These editorially focused illustrations differ from commonly found, highly stylised model photography in similar reports, and are considered in the lens of the print medium. The sophisticated typography, inspired by Italian modernism, is deployed on a rigorous grid aiming to delight readers without distraction. Illustrations spread throughout the publication reflect the colloquial language of the articles. The paper stock colour, small page size (169×254mm), and simple saddle stitch binding technique amplify the informal tone. Despite the print medium, this zine connects back to the website by providing fading snippets of the hyperlinks present in the original article. Direct messaging such as, “this won't help your love life, but you might just smell nice” or “this one smells like wood + smoke”, can be found on the packaging, helping relay the personality of the brand. The packaging materials and bottle play with the notion of transparency related to honesty; giving a clear view of the product inside the box and bottle. The extension entails the creation of a custom blackletter typeface constructed of modular, stenciled shapes. This stencil aims to enable consistent use of the identity across mediums, and the overall package is to be used by in-house Legacy designers. The packaging and stencil are designed to be compact and premium; as a tool, the stencil must inspire confidence and be efficient to use. Topics range from sports to current affairs, school experiences, and spirituality. The podcast is hosted by an Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, a reformist movement within Islam, and the fastest growing sect of the fastest-growing religion in the world. The identity captures a young Muslim crowd through its modern appearance and unexpected colours. The logo is an ‘M’ which conceals two ‘T’ characters in its negative space, linking to the TMT acronym. The concept reflects the common gallery experience where the neutrality of the interior design lends to the prominence of the artworks. The differentiation is the referencing of artworks from cover to cover by utilising coloured dots; this visual note can be found in the page-furniture of each artist’s section and relates to the cover and contents design. The contents pages use translucent stock to overlay an array of dots and page numbers over the corresponding artwork. The coloured dots also provide tactility with the contrasting spot gloss. At its core, the rebrand analysed the optimal solution for a cohesive identity given the plethora of surfaces needing to be covered; the answer was a custom&nbsp; variable typeface. The typeface aims to remain neutral, yet capture the personality of the nimble and inclusive gallery reflected in its “by artists, for all artists” mantra.
